NaphCare is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our team at the Arizona Department of Corrections-Phoenix located in Phoenix, AZ.

Pay rates vary based on shift, site needs, and experience.  Shifts and hours vary based on coverage needs and can be discussed with site leadership upon interview.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities for Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON):

 

  • Uses administrative knowledge and expertise to ensure that clinical processes and systems are followed appropriately according to P&P, company performance and accreditation standards. 
  • Use all functions and applications of ADP eTime and Scheduler™ relevant to the position with no supervision, ensure that all staff are trained and using the Time Stamp function in accordance with policy and procedure; and collaborate with the HSA to create staffing schedules within the ADP system.
  • Monitor compliance with site-specific policies and procedures and take appropriate corrective action. Ensure compliance with ACA, NCCHC, company policies & procedures.
  • Coordinate, structure, implement, and guide the delivery of the nursing service program within the facility, including direct oversight, leadership, management, guidance, support, and evaluation of clinical performance by the RNs, LPNs, CNAs/MAs, and EMTs
  • Respond to and initiate care for medical emergencies within the facility, including the ability to perform continuous CPR until properly relieved.
  • Conduct daily clinical rounds to all designated areas of responsibility to observe and review documentation, orders, and patient care plans, and ensure that objectives are understood and practiced by the nursing staff.
  • Assist with daily triage/sick call, minor medical/surgical procedures, and patient assessments.
  • Assist with disaster plans and emergency preparation.  Adhere to and enforce all safety and security policies and procedures and participate in all applicable safety/emergency drills.
  • Work in accordance with the HSA and the Medical Director to fulfill the contractual requirements for the delivery of quality healthcare.
  • Assist and support staff in developing and maintaining problem-solving and nursing diagnoses competency.  
  • Participate in all monthly, quarterly, and annual meetings as assigned and required in accordance with contract compliance.

Qualifications

 Qualifications for Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON):

 

  • Bachelor's degree or RN with two years experience preferred
  • Must hold valid RN license in STATE 
  • Prior supervisory experience in a nursing setting preferred
  • Active CPR certification
  • Must show current tuberculosis documentation
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
