Responsibilities

Responsibilities for Optometrist:

 

  • Maintain overall optometry care to each patient, including those provided by consultants of offsite resources
  • Perform all optometry examinations using observation, instruments, and pharmaceutical agents to determine visual acuity and perception, focus, coordination and to diagnose diseases of the eye and other abnormalities.
  • Formulate a working diagnosis, develop and implement a treatment plan, and evaluate/modify therapeutic regimens
  • Evaluate all patients returning from offsite optometry visits
  • Prescribe, fit and adjust eye glasses
  • Provide visual hygiene and safety education to all patients
  • Collaborate with state on assisting persons with eye disabilities
  • Provide quality patient care
  • Leading, directing, managing, and evaluating optometry services to ensure that contractual obligations and client expectations are met

Qualifications

Qualifications for Optometrist:

  • Current, unrestricted license as an Optometrist in Arizona
  • Current DEA registration and a valid CPR card
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience, with corrections or mobile optometry experience preferred
  • Must possess strong written communication and verbal skills, and have computer expertise
