NaphCare is hiring Clinicians/Mental Health Professionals to join our Jail Based Treatment Program that operates as a 30-bed adult specialized behavioral health unit at Washoe County Detention Facility in Reno, NV.

NaphCare is a family owned, medical technology company that has been delivering high quality healthcare to correctional facilities across the nation for over 35 years. Come join our team of over 5000 employees and growing! NaphCare pays well, offers outstanding benefits, and has an incredibly engaged corporate support team to make sure you have what you need to be truly excellent at what you do.

As a Clinician, have you ever wanted to work somewhere where you can see real results from what you do?  Where you are part of a true mental health professional team, well-supported by management, such that you know your patients quickly receive any medications they need, receive fast follow-up from providers and experience remarkable results?  Would you like to work in a place that is secure and where most patients are very appreciative of your care?

This is what our employees say about working in correctional healthcare for NaphCare: “Working with NaphCare has provided me with amazing opportunities for growth. Through my various roles I’ve experienced the benefit of balancing management tasks with performing direct patient care to serve our most vulnerable populations. It has been tremendously rewarding to help implement and grow award-winning programs and participate in site transitions across the nation. Our mental health programs take a collaborative multidisciplinary approach because we understand that working together is the only way to effectively meet our patients’ needs.”  Meghan, LMHC

The Clinician will conduct psychosocial assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, evaluate treatment goals, and provide individual and group therapy using psychoeducation, evidenced-based therapies, coping and social skills building, and support to improve patients’ symptoms of mental illness and/or disability, functioning, and overall well-being. The ideal candidate has experience working with serious mental illness and/or in a correctional setting, and in working within a multidisciplinary team.

The Clinician will work with a team of psychiatric providers, a psychiatric nurse, discharge planner, recreational therapist, and data coordinator led and supported by a program director.

The Jail-Based Treatment Program (JBTP) provides specialized behavioral health services for patients awaiting transfer to a state hospital for further psychiatric treatment. The unit is a therapeutic environment, providing intensive day treatment services. By providing patient-centered, evidenced-based, and holistic care, the JBTP seeks to eliminate the need for these patients to transfer to the state hospital or, at a minimum, to decrease their length of stay once hospitalized. The ultimate aim is to assist defendants in moving forward with their legal case and with their lives in a healthier place.

NaphCare is partnered with the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office to provide this program, which is supported by the SNAMHS and funded through the NV-DHHS Division of Public and Behavioral Health.
