Overview

Naphcare is seeking a Utility Technician to perform under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. The Utility Technician is responsible for receiving and filling prescription requests for patients and completing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

 

**Must hold and maintain a current, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification issued by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy with a minimum of 1 year experience, PTCB certification and USP 797/800 experience is a plus**

Responsibilities

    

  • Use knowledge and expertise to ensure that pharmaceutical processes and systems are followed appropriately according to policies and procedures, company performance, and accreditation standards.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, peers, and employees at all levels within the organization. Maintain clear lines of communication throughout issue-resolution processes.
  • Demonstrate personal performance based on professional practice standards, relevant statutes, rules and regulations and organizational criteria.
  • Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain proper storage and security conditions for all medications.
  • Fill prescribed medications and affix labels as necessary.
  • Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas, including sterilization as required.
  • Order, label, and count stock medications, chemicals, and supplies, and enter inventory data.
  • Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, and report stock needs and/or shortages.

 

Qualifications

  • Must hold and maintain a current, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification issued by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy with a minimum of 1 year experience, PTCB certification and USP 797/800 experience is a plus
  • Willingness to be trained (if necessary) and work in a USP797/800 clean room environment as necessary to meet business needs.
  • Must complete at least sufficient hours of CEU to maintain Technician license. Ensure that all pharmaceutical services provided within the facility conform to state licensure, accreditation, regulatory agency requirements, and company policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate professionalism by using objectivity, maintaining self-control when under pressure, separating professional from personal issues, displaying emotional maturity, maintaining a high degree of integrity, and promoting a positive work environment by setting an example.
  • Notify critical information to the next level of management that may have a negative impact on client and/or vendor relations or patient care.
  • Will be assigned to Keying, packing, order fulfillment, and inventory replenishment duties as needed.
  • Willingness to complete special projects as needed from management.
  • Willingness to work assigned schedule and mandatory overtime in peak times.
