Responsibilities for Dialysis Dieticians:

• Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and current health plans, to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling
• Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patients
• Advise patients on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparation
• Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life
• Monitor food service operations to ensure conformance to nutritional, safety, sanitation, and quality standards, including diet reviews at least every six (6) months and complete documentation as required per policies and procedures and accreditation standards
• Coordinate recipe development and standardization and develop new menus as necessary

Qualifications for Dialysis Dieticians:

• Previous experience as a Dietician for Dialysis patients
• ESRD experience
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
• Hold a current certification as a Registered Dietician in the state of employment
• Valid CPR card
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a healthcare setting
• Correctional healthcare experience preferred
