Responsibilities

The Dental Director is responsible for overseeing the dental program and ensuring quality dental care is provided to protect the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Responsibilities may include and not be limited to:

 

  • Developing and implementing dental services policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Performing direct dental care services for the patients in residence
  • Ensuring compliance with State and Federal mandates and regulations, including court mandates and standards
  • Collaborating with other medical professionals to ensure staff are responsive to patients’ needs
  • Training, supervising, and evaluating dental staff

Qualifications

Education / Licenses / Certifications

 

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or equivalent
  • Experience in clinical dentistry and correctional settings preferred
  • Valid dental license in the state of Arizona
  • CPR certification
  • Current DEA registration
