Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Trial Attorney to join a national litigation team currently consisting of four attorneys, three paralegals and a legal nurse. 

 

NaphCare provides essential correctional healthcare and software solutions across 27 states.

 

The Trial Attorney is preferably based in Las Vegas, NV but may be remote depending on what states you are licensed in.  The position will support the legal needs of a growing national governmental contractor with offices across the nation.  The ideal candidate will thrive in the courtroom, enjoy travel, believe in equitable outcomes and have experience in or be willing to learn state and federal medical defense work.

Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Have the skills to manage an active medical litigation docket with a strong support team and minimal oversight.
  • Travel to our medical facilities to interview staff and fully understand the correctional healthcare setting.
  • Travel to and take depositions, lead mediations, try cases in various states across the nation, working with local counsel.
  • Prepare witnesses and play an active role of every part of working a case up, all the way through successful conclusion, to include going to trial as first or second chair.
  • Make definitive, independent legal decisions in a short timeframe with little supervision.
  • Perform other duties/tasks as necessary or assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Juris Doctor Degree

Experience: 

  • Five plus (5+) of courtroom trial experience
  • Strong and persuasive writing and speaking skills

Licenses/Certifications:

  • License to practice law in at least one state with willingness to seek reciprocity in 2-3 additional states and pro hac in to venues where needed
