Overview

NaphCare has an excellent opportunity for an experienced QA Engineer to join our team on-site at our Corporate Headquarters in Birmingham, AL.

 

Expertise in Playwright, Typescript and GitHub. As a key member of our agile development team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our enterprise-grade software systems. You will design and implement automated testing solutions using Playwright and TypeScript, integrate tests into our GitHub CI/CD pipelines, and perform exploratory testing to validate system behavior. This role is essential to delivering high-quality, secure, and efficient solutions for data exchange with third-party systems while supporting the ongoing enhancement of the TechCare EHR Solution’s interface engine. .Net Core a bonus.

 

Our technology stack includes Playwright, TypeScript, GitHub, REST/SOAP API testing, and JSON/XML/CSV data validation. Version control and CI/CD are managed through GitHub to support continuous delivery of robust and scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

  1. Test Automation: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright and TypeScript to validate web applications and APIs.
  2. Test Strategy & Execution: Create and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and regression suites to ensure product quality. Ability to conduct code reviews. .Net Core a plus.
  3. Continuous Integration/Delivery: Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Git and GitHub.
  4. Defect Management: Identify, document, and track defects; work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
  5. Collaboration: Partner with product managers, developers, and other QA team members to understand requirements, define acceptance criteria, and deliver high-quality releases.
  6. Best Practices: Advocate for QA best practices, including test automation coverage, code reviews for test scripts, and consistent testing methodologies.
  7. Reporting & Metrics: Provide clear and actionable quality metrics and status updates to stakeholders.
  8. Exploratory & Manual Testing: When necessary, perform exploratory and manual testing to supplement automated coverage and validate edge cases.

Qualifications

  1. Education/Experience:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; or 5+ years of relevant QA/testing experience in lieu of a degree.
    • 3+ years of experience in test automation with Playwright.
    • Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and ability to create maintainable, scalable test frameworks.
  2. Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in Git/GitHub for version control, branching, and CI/CD pipeline integration.
    • Familiarity with API testing (REST, SOAP) and data formats such as JSON, XML, and CSV.
  3. Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze complex systems, identify potential risks, and create robust test coverage.
  4. Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers.
  5. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting test results, reporting issues, and collaborating across teams.
  6. Industry Knowledge: Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, criminal justice, or finance) is preferred but not required.
