NaphCare has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Part-Time Pharmacy Student to join our team at our Corporate Headquarters Pharmacy located in Birmingham, AL.

 

*This is an on-site position.

Responsibilities

  • Moderate physical work involving bending, lifting, and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds.
  • Talking and listening to communicate ideas or requirements to individual staff members.
  • Visual acuity to listen attentively and accurately.
  • Use knowledge and expertise to ensure that pharmaceutical processes and systems are followed appropriately according to policies and procedures, company performance, and accreditation standards.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, peers, and employees at all levels within the organization.
  • Maintain clear lines of communication throughout issue-resolution processes.
  • Demonstrate personal performance based on professional practice standards, relevant statutes, rules and regulations, and organizational criteria.
  • Receive written prescription or refill requests and verify that information is complete and accurate.
  • Maintain proper storage and security conditions for all medications.
  • Fill prescribed medications and affix labels as necessary.
  • Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas, including sterilization as required.
  • Order, label, and count stock medications, chemicals, and supplies, and enter inventory data.
  • Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, and report stock needs and/or shortages.
  • Must complete sufficient hours of CEU to maintain a technician license.
  • Ensure that all pharmaceutical services provided within the facility conform to state licensure, accreditation, regulatory agency requirements, and company policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate professionalism by using objectivity, maintaining self-control when under pressure, separating professional from personal issues, displaying emotional maturity, maintaining a high degree of integrity, and promoting a positive work environment by setting an example.
  • Notify critical information to the next level of management that may have a negative impact on client and/or vendor relations or patient care.
  • Will assist with packing, shipping, and inventory replenishment duties as needed.
  • Willingness to complete special projects as needed by management.
  • Willingness to work assigned schedules and mandatory overtime in peak times.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a pharmacy setting or related field such as wholesale, drug, or medical supply distribution.
  • PTCB certification is a plus.
