Overview

NaphCare is growing and we have an excellent opportunity for an Employee Engagement Specialist to join our team on-site at our Corporate Headquarters in Birmingham, AL.

 

The Employee Engagement Specialist works in partnership with operations, human resources, talent acquisition, and marketing to develop and implement strategies to retain a strong work force and promote NaphCare as an employer of choice. This role acts as an ambassador to NaphCare’s employees by providing information and support services at all stages of the employee life cycle; with focus on creating a positive onboarding experience.

Responsibilities

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, implements and manages employee engagements and initiatives in order to build and increase employee retention and enhance the overall employment experience.
  • Supports new site-employees through the first 90-days, and sets them up for long term success with the organization.
  • Develops checklists, tools and other resources to facilitate and track first week check-ins, 14/45/90-day check ins, and throughout the employment lifecycle.
  • Conducts site-employment satisfaction surveys, insight sessions, stay interviews, and exit interviews to gather feedback regarding their employment experience.
  • Reports the feedback collected with the goal of improving retention strategies, programs, and incentives.
  • Coordinates and tracks site leadership check-ins and stay interviews with site employees.
  • Builds relationships with site-employees and serves as an ambassador for site-employees to provide feedback about their employment experience.
  • Partners with leadership to develop and implement an employee engagement and retention plan for each location.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of engagement and retention programs and drives ongoing processes for improvement.
  • Reviews site-employee benefits, compensation, and employment practices and makes recommendations for enhancements to meet the needs of the current workforce.
  • Partners with the talent acquisition department to review the interview and hiring processes to improve the selection and retention of qualified candidates.
  • Participates as a member of the Employee Appreciation committee to implement recognition and appreciation programs and incentives throughout client facilities.
  • Manages, tracks, and reports on key turnover and retention metrics used to identify trends and to make recommendations for improvement.
  • Conducts Post-Employment interviews to track reasons for voluntary terminations.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Marketing/Communications or a related field or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through education, training and experience.
  • 3 years of minimum experience in sales, employee relations, recruiting, training, or coaching, with an emphasis on employee engagement or retention.
  • Ability to coach and counsel employees, as needed, while maintaining positive working relationships with individuals at all levels.
  • Proficiency using Outlook and MS Office at a moderate level.
  • Ability to interpret and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Long periods of sitting at a desk performing light physical work, including working at a computer terminal.
  • Light physical work involving lifting and carrying.
  • Talking and listening to communicate ideas or requirements to individual staff members.
  • Visual acuity to listen attentively and accurately.
